Jude's mom is an astronaut, 254 miles away on the International Space Station, so when her father is diagnosed with lung cancer, Jude finds herself acting as mission control, spending long hours in the hospital. Brian is always at the hospital: his brain prone to aneurysms, neither he nor the doctors know what lies ahead. When a chance meeting brings them together, Jude and Brian connect both because of and despite the uncertainties governing their lives, orbited by the ensemble of actors telling their story and playing a variety of characters populating their universe.
